About
Location: Milford, MA
Size: 19,000 sq. ft.
Status: Completed in 1991
Completed in 1991, the building’s lower level (facing the street) houses the apparatus room, dispatch, dormitories, and other support facilities. The upper level, accessible on grade through the rear, houses offices, training facilities, and public access spaces. Built into a hillside, this facility also owns a large outdoor training area with a “burnt tower” for firefighter training.
Trimmed with local Milford Pink Granite, the red-brick exterior was extracted from a local quarry. Ribbed metal was used at the pitched roof for water tightness and a traditional New England appearance.
